Current Overview of Federal Funding:

Weld Re-4 School District receives federal funding under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).  These funds are used to supplement state and local funding and can be used to address specific areas each year.  Please feel free to send any comments or questions to the Weld Re-4 email account at:  engage@weldre4.org

Title I, Part A - (Improving the Academic Achievement of Students at Risk) is the largest federal program supporting public education.  Title I allocates funds based on poverty rates in the district.  Title I supports focus on providing additional instructional time in the areas of reading and math. 

Two schools in Weld Re-4 are served with these funds for students in kindergarten through second grade:

  • Tozer Elementary
  • Skyview Elementary 

Weld Re-4’s allocation for Title I is $257, 915.

Proposed use of funds in 2018-2019:

  • 3.0 FTE Title I teachers at Tozer Elementary
  • 1.0 Title I teacher at Skyview Elementary
  • Supplies for Title I programs
  • Professional Development for Title I staff

Title II (High Quality Teachers and Principals) is intended to increase student achievement by improving teacher and principal quality.  This fund supports professional development coordination in Weld Re-4.  

Weld Re-4’s allocation for Title II is:  $73,032

Proposed use of funds in 2018-2019:

  • 1.0 Department of Instruction TOSA to oversee induction and coordinate all professional development activities.
  • Windsor Charter Academy per pupil allocation

Title III (Language Instruction for Limited English Proficient and Immigrant Students) is a supplemental grant to support students in becoming proficient in English as well as work towards meeting academic standards.  

Weld Re-4’s allocation for Title II is:  $8654

Proposed use of funds in 2018-2019

  • Additional ELL paraprofessional approximately 5 hours per week

Title IV (Student Support and Academic Achievement) is designed to improve academic achievement through a well-rounded education and support safe and healthy schools.  

Weld Re-4 allocation for Title IV is:  $13,799

Proposed use of funds in 2018-2019

  • Consulting services with community mental health provider
  • Behavior coaching support for teachers
  • Support of Weld Re-4 Mental Health Night speakers
  • Windsor Charter Academy per pupil allocation
