Amy Heinsma, Director of Instruction

Amy Heinsma has been the Director of Instruction since 2010. Amy is responsible for preschool through 12th grade coordination of all instruction programs in the district that include development and revision of standards, curriculum development, assessment and reporting student achievement, and alignment of instructional practice to district and state assessments in accordance with the school board’s objectives and policies. Amy also coordinates and provides achievement data and assists principals and the superintendent in implementation of district accreditation plan consistent with the Board of Education policies and procedures.

Amy is a resource to building principals in the selection of textbooks and supplementary instructional materials used in the district to provide desired program continuity and alignment with standards and assessments of the district. Amy is the District Accountability Committee Liaison, District Assessment Coordinator, and the Colorado Evaluator Trainer for the Weld RE-4 School District. Prior to her current position with Weld RE-4 School District, Amy taught at Windsor Middle School, 7th grade English for 13 years. Amy has a bachelor’s degree in English and an EdS in Educational Leadership from the University of Northern Colorado as well as a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Scranton. Amy and her family reside in Windsor.

Jackie Hertzke, TOSA for Instruction

Jackie Hertzke is the TOSA (Teacher on Special Assignment) for the Department of Instruction. Jackie provides and supports Professional Development, Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Title I, Induction for new educators.  She also works with each building to create their Unified Improvement Plan (UIP) along with supporting Tozer Primary and Skyview School of STEM as Title I Coordinator.  Jackie is the Family Parent Liaison for the district and coordinates several community partnering projects as Community Partnering Program at Windsor Middle School and Severance Middle School and Internship Opportunity for Windsor High School. Lastly, Jackie is excited about her newest duty as the elementary summer school administrator for CAMP IGNITE. Jackie has taught at Colorado Christian University to post-bachelor students. Jackie is a lifelong resident of Windsor and is proud to be a Windsor Wizard. Prior to her current job at the district office, Jackie has taught at Skyview Elementary School of STEM, Mountain View Elementary, and Windsor Middle School. Jackie has a bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing, teacher licensure in K-6 Elementary and Distributive Education, master’s degree in Special Education, and an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership.

Valerie Hubert, Assessment Specialist

Valerie Hubert is the Assessment Specialist for the Department of Instruction. . Valerie has worked for the Weld RE-4 for the past 10 years. Her first couple months Valerie was the district office receptionist but Valerie quickly moved to Assessment Specialist. Valerie has years of bookkeeping experience and is highly qualified as an instructional aide from Aims Community College. Valerie was a computer tech teacher in the Greeley School District prior to working in Windsor. Valerie is happy to live in Windsor and is the mother of two Windsor graduates, Alex and Sarah. 

Lori Lanckriet, Department Secretary

Lori Lanckriet is the Secretary for the Department of Instruction. Lori and her family moved to Windsor in 1999. Lori supports all of our 30 plus data systems, roster student information, and assessment. Lori is also the elementary summer school secretary for CAMP IGNITE. Lori graduated high school from Julesburg, Colorado and graduated with a bachelor in elementary education and early childhood from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Lori has taught 2nd and 4th grade in Nebraska and prior to her current role she was at Grandview Elementary as an instructional and literacy aide and Skyview School of STEM as a Kindergarten aide.

Emily Williams, TOSA for Instruction

Emily Williams moved to Windsor in 2006 with her family. Emily graduated from University of Wisconsin at Madison in 1990 with her bachelor’s degree in special education. Emily then earned a master’s degree in Curriculum Leadership with an emphasis on Educational Admin from the University of Denver. Emily has been a special education teacher for the past 25 years teaching in Cherry Creek and Steamboat prior to Windsor. Emily’s current role in Windsor is Assessment TOSA for the Department of Instruction. Emily works directly with Kindergarten teachers and students as well as supports all K-12 assessments.

Michelle Smith, TOSA for Community Partnership

Michelle began teaching at Windsor High School in 2005 and has been teaching Business Education classes since 1999. Classes Michelle has taught are:  Introduction to Business, Business Management, Introduction to Marketing , and Career Development.  Michelle recently joined the Instruction team at the district office as the TOSA for Community Partnership.  Michelle is responsible for coordinating the Cooperative Office Education and On-The-Job Training programs for Weld RE-4.
